The Inspiration Boards have become one of the most popular features here on diva-fierce.com – which thrills me because I love creating them! As the year winds down, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at the looks that all of you loved best this year, as determined by the number of views. What was capturing your oh so fashionable gaze in 2017?
1. Maryse – Lacy Layers …ok, technically, this post is from 2016. I was still developing the concept then and didn’t do a year-end Top list, but I wanted to recognize it here, as it was one of the most viewed posts for mooooonths after it went up and gets a significant number of hits even now, over a year later. 2. Barbie – Candy & Flowers…I loved the sweet colors and unexpected pop of florals in this accessible and chic look from Barbie. So did you :) It was the runaway favorite of the year, getting nearly double the number of views of any other look. 3.Mckenzie – Denim 70’s…The 70’s has been a massive influence on fashion over the past few years and this re-imagining of Mckenzie’s Americana look embraced it wholeheartedly, with earthy colors, midi lengths and an off-the-shoulder silhouette. It got plenty of love from you, earning the next most popular spot. 4. Becky – Metal & Lace-kicker…nipping at the heels of the Denim 70’s look was one from a very different genre: a play on Becky’s femme-meets-tough-chick ring gear that melded lace pieces with hardware accents. It seems the Fiercenti who frequent diva-fierce love a whole range of styles! And that is so awesome because…me too! 5. We had three looks in nearly a dead heat for the fifth spot: Natalya - a la Natalya, a glamour-tinged riff on Nattie’s incredible gear, Naomi – When Tulle Met Stripes, a translation of Nay-nay’s Valentine’s Day ‘shoot look that paired chic tulle with the breezy Parisian vibe of stripes and Lana – Gypsy Rocker, a casual luxe look that chanelled a bit of Stevie Nicks by way of Lana’s Instagram snap Your fashion sense rocked in 2017, Fiercenti! Here’s to an equally stylish 2018 :)

Charlotte gave us a full back view of her black sequin cape during her time in Shenzhen, China. I love when she gives us still like this – it really lets me appreciate all the detail in her gear designs and there is a lot of it! Like the rest of the fashion world, I’m obsessed with flowers at the moment, so the embroidered ones on the back of this cape have me drooling! They’re so gorgeous and the color-scheme is crave-worthy, especially set against the black shimmer, which highlight the mix of green, blue and lime flawlessly. Where can I get a duster like this, pretty please? (Ahem…looking at you, WWE Shop!).
Emma’s time off yielded a fair number of fun looks. Here, we seeing her staying true to her love of colorful prints in this royal blue maxi dress. The fact that the print is confined to certain areas of the piece, instead of being all-over, helps it to feel more polished and not overwhelming. She happens to be barefoot in this shot, but I especially like that this breezy dress would lend itself perfectly to flat sandals during the summer months, as well as to ankle booties in the fall. A number of divas have become devotes of Agaci Store in recent months. Gail is the latest to jump on board, as she wears this golden yellow set, pairing wide-leg pants with a matching lace blouse. The combination of flowing pants like these with a slim top is always incredibly chic. On top of that, I adore Gail in intense colors and I adore yellow, so this look is pretty much a lovefest for me from stem to stern :). I also need to call out her hairstyle here – the side part, the amayyzzzzing volume: it’s absolutely stunning! Simple gold hoops add a hint of flash to this look. We don’t see her shoes, but nude or metallic pumps would be high on my list. The sweet sunshine is gone and full-on FIERCE is in for Gail’s latest in-ring look. This reminds me of the leather bodysuit gear she used a few years ago that slayed our world, except this time, it’s done in a knit and the plunge front is filled with racy fishnet mesh. Daaayyyuuuuum. Girlfriend knows how to kill it! Her coordinating net OTK’s -from Agaci store – ensure that the killage is complete from head to toe. Smoky eyes and a pale lip give her outfit center stage. The volume in her hair is just as gorgeous the second time around. I’ll brb – I have to run get a winch to haul my jaw off the ground. The ladies of WWE showed their love for Kane this Halloween, via a photoshoot tribute that was rife with interesting fashion. Instead of trying to copy Kane’s look precisely, these snaps are more of “Variations On A Theme By Kane”; the ladies interpret the concept of The Undertaker’s evil brother through their own vision and style. I like the idea – it makes for a much more engaging ‘shoot than a more direct interpretation, as each Superstar is freer to be creative and personalize the snaps. The success of this ‘shoot is fueled from the get-go by the inferno-filled backdrop. At times embellished with industrial furniture, at times with barbed wire-vined walls, it looks totally fab and hellacious without being distracting.
Natalya kicks off the set in a black bodysuit topped with an open-weave metallic tunic sweater. She added a host of accessories: a super-cute cat-ear headband, hoop earrings, a wide gold choker, a black leather waist belt and lacy garter straps. All those subtexts add a complexity to the fashion statement we don’t often see from Nattie and I applaud her risk-taking here and her willingness to experiment. I do think the look might have been stronger with an item or two less; the choker in particular, I think, could be jettisoned without regret. I’m not exactly sure if I love the look of the unhooked garter straps, but I do love the subtle sultriness they bring to the look. The waist belt I naturally adore and she wins Fierce points for that trendy and fab choice! She completed the look with satin OTK boots – so sexy and chic at the same time! Seriously, Kane – even with all his pyrotechnics – was never this hot! Smoky eyes and a soft pink lip accented this outfit in just the right way – smoldering, but not brazen. And Nattie worked the poses in her ever on-point, confident way, creating a slow, steady burn throughout her snaps. I’m so excited to finally post this for all of you! It’s been in process since literally August. I plead lack of time and scope of post: this season’s “blast” is more like a ka-boom - fashion is going in so many directions right now! There are a multitude of subtexts underlying a few dominant themes.
Lana was a blushing beauty in this pale pink tank dress. She kept the look monochromatic by finishing it with chunky-heeled ankle strap sandals. I love the shoes in and of themselves, but I'm not sure I'm 100% sold on pairing them with such a casual dress. They should help to elevate it, but they feel a little off here and I think jewelry (a long semi-formal pendant necklace for example) or a wide leather belt might have helped the look be more cohesive. This way, without accessories, I might have gone with sneakers or light-colored ankle booties. I do love her low pony; it shows off her shoulders and fits with the laidback, sporty vibe.
Maryse turns the seduction on full blast in this criss-cross strapped dress from Hot Miami Styles (also worn by Lana last fall, in pink). The fiery red hue just makes the piece that much more scintillating and Maryse's pulled-back hair lets the focus stay on that head-turning central detail. Since she wore the dress around Independence Day, I'm fully supporting white or blue heels to complete the look! :). Next up is a white lace-and-sheer sheath dress from Revolve Clothing. Maryse paired it with black Nudist sandals from Stuart Weitzman. This look is not only classic Maryse, it's classic period. The white and black combo goes heavy on the white, making it feel just right for summer. The delicacy of the sandals enhances that light-as-air quality. They're echoed by Maryse's dark nails, while her peach-pink lip brings in a touch of warmth. This look is simply chic from head to toe! I'm even crazier about her second outfit with the Nudist sandals: this forest green satin slipdress. The midi length is sophisticted and on-trend, as is the slipdress silhouette, but what really thrills me is this color -it's glorious! This rich jewel tone looks amazingly luxe, especially done in this shimmering satin. We've seen Maryse have success with this shade before and this rendition runs true to form. It works for summer (although I might have considered silver sandals to lighten the look a bit more); add a faux fur jacket and ankle booties to transition it into fall. McKenzie has consistently impressed me with her fashion since she popped on to my radar and this embellished dress she wore for Slammiversary doesn't tarnish her record. The embellishment is of perfect scale for her and on-trend, the fit of the sheath is splendid and the color combination is iconic. I like that she chose something a bit more formal for a big PPV event. I have one thing on my wishlist here: I wish she had gone with white (or black) shoes here, as I feel that the light nude hue can sometimes juts look dirty when paired with white. The strappy styling is a definite win though! Streetwear looks have been few and far between from Natalya this summer, so it was wonderful to see her out and about in this black jumpsuit. The clean, edited styling is just what I'd expect from this Queen Of Classic chic. I love the addition of the belt for added waist definition - I wouldn't even have minded a more dramatic version with a touch of embellishment or a bit more hardware. I'd put good money she completed this look with black strappy sandals or pointy toe pumps. Either one would be an excellent choice. Sooo…apologies: I went to link this review to Lana’s newest NY Daily News gallery and realized that apparently, I never actually reviewed it. And that is completely weird because I literally remember writing it. Total strangeness! The upside for all of you is that ….ta-da…you get a major bikini ‘shoot in autumn. This should get you warmed right up! ;)
She kicks things off with a bikini of palest aqua that is strikingly similar to one she wore while playing on a floatie in the NY Daily News set. While the NYD piece has an extra split band at the bust, this one is a faux-twist style with a pretty ruched detail at the center. Her bottoms are the simplest of bikini bottoms. The subtle detail and soft color create a peaceful, relaxing vibe that’s just right for “wasting” hours at poolside under a glaring sun, while the sweetheart-halter gives it a slightly retro vibe. Lana accentuates the carefree feel with long and loose blonde locks and adds delicate sheen with a collection of slim bangles. She can’t resist a touch of modern glamour, though, which she gives us via her mirror-finish silver t-strap platform sandals. They’re the closest thing to a spoken word in an outfit of whispers. The silver contrasts with the gold bracelets for a touch of current style philosophy and completes the look with a dose of panache. They’re the only nod to flashiness, however, as her poses –paused on the pool stairs or lounging at the water’s edge- reflect a more contemplative mood: she pauses on the pool stair From there, she moves to a flirty ruffle-embellished French top, paired with matching slit-sided bottoms. The print is a bold geometric exploration of triangles, done in metallic gold on a black background. It’s sassy and sultry and, in spite of her quiet finish with ivory wedge espadrilles, has a much more intense and energetic vibe than her tranquil blue look. A selection of black and gold bangles brings in additional texture. In keeping with the glamour of this bikini, Lana kicks up the drama of her poses, working the hands-in-hair, skyward glances and dropped-eyelash smiles that make this look thrilling and beautiful. The stunning vegetation-lined lake backdrop doesn’t hurt either :). It makes a lovely variation on the traditional beach. Lana recently did a gallery of snaps for the NY Daily News which showcased her fashion sense! She kicked things off with a tie-dyed maxi dress that sports a plunging front and a thigh-high side slit. The business of tie-dye doesn’t make it ine of my favorite prints, but I’m won over by the pretty ink-and-white color combination. Lana styled this for poolside lounging, with bare feet and a low pony. Add flat sandals and a woven bag for street-wear. Next up is a square-necked one-piece swimsuit with super high-cut legs that are straight-up 80’s! I love the vintage-come-trendy reference, as well as the gorgeous watermelon color! Lana added a bit of spice with her side-fishtail braid. I love the way the complexity of her hairstyle balances the simplicity of her suit. She tops that with her next piece, though: a halterneck maillot in a striped-ombré paisley that moves from aqua to cerulean to lavender to burgundy. The use of multiple, layered prints looks aaaahhhhmayyzing! I love the boho-elegance of this piece – and that’s not a description I get to use often! The piece is super-unusual, beautiful and look smashing on Lana – so basically, it nails my triad for what to look for in a bathing suit! Her click, side-parted hair works just opposite to her fishtail braid; here, the simplicity balances the complexity of her clothing choice. We also get a peek at side cut-out bikini that strongly reminds me of the one she wore in her (almost) Summer Skin 2.0 ‘shoot (which I was going to link to but seem to have utterly and completely lost (WTH!), so I am working on that. Instead of silver sandals, she pairs this one with lilac sunnies and an inflatable pink flamingo for a candy-colored, summer-fun snap that makes me smile! Check out the snaps and deets here.
