I love blazers of every variety! And Stephanie seems to be on the same page. We've seen her wear a plethora of classic suit blazers of varying cut and stance. However, once of the most accessible pieces she's broken out lately is this version done in denim. If you're new to blazers, this kind of piece is a great place to break in. think of it as your classic denim jacket, but a bit more mature. Like the denim jacket, it can make dressy outfits more casual, in a more polished way. Stephanie tossed it over a pretty robin's egg blue sheath dress, a look I'm a huge fan of. It makes the dress much more versatile and cries it from spring/summer into fall. Since she was wearing it in August, Stephanie paired it with white sandals. To make the outfit more autumn-appropriate, I've envisioned it with sand suede ankle booties, which enhance the casual feel. In keeping with Steph's style sensibilities, accessorize with refined gold jewelry, accented with clear crystal (or diamonds if you're the Chief Brand Officer of a super-successful co., doing quite well in life, or just want to give yourself a treat ;)). Try something classic mixed with something with a bit of an edge, like spikes or ear crawlers ;). The denim blazer works just as well over a maxi dress as it does over a sheath. So, if you happen to have a pretty one hanging in your current closet, don't relegate it to the warm-weather-only section! Any multi-season fabric (cotton, cotton blends, silk, ponte, crepe) as well as lace pieces can transition easily to cooler months with the aid of a blazer. (Avoid specifically-summer fabrics like seersucker, gingham and linen though). I'm holding on to summer as long as possible, so I imagined completing this look with ankle-strap pumps :). If you're ready for full-on fall, pair it with flat tan or caramel knee boots instead. I hope you're inspired to try a denim blazer soon, loves! Happy fashioning!

SummerSlam week is always a great week for fashion, nearly rivaling Wrestlemania. This year, we got a taste of everything from boho to Black Swan looks.
The former is represented by Brie (shocking, right? ;)) as she donned this blue mini dress with bell sleeves and a crocheted hem. The lace-up detailing at the front adds a dash of sassy modernity to this carefree piece. She paired it with a camel leather bag and white strappy platforms. It's a simple combination that works perfectly. I also love how cute her new, shorter hairstyle looks here! We also got a look at Carmella's out-of-the-ring style, as she visited the One World Observatory. She combined a sleeveless, high-neck ribbed top in toasted almond with dark floral shorts. Caramel lace-up sandals finished the outfit. I'm digging everything about this look...right up until the shoes. And here's why: the golden warmth of the caramel is gorgeous, but it forms a big contrast with the cool tone of her top. If that color play was the raison d'etre of her look, I could ttly swing with it, but there's more going on with that floral print. It makes her shoes look like something of a mis-match. I think I'd have gone with black sandals instead - same style, same everything, just a color swap. But I don't worry about Carmella. Girlfriend's got fashion sense and I can' t wait to see her intriguing style! Bayley has always been about bright colors and fun, whimsical accents in her gear. When she first debuted, it was all a bit wild on the eyes, but she's been working on staying true to her bouncy self, while creating a more cohesive visual and I like the results! This gear incorporates purple holograph fabric, edged with dark teal metallic and some funky graphics at the sides. I love the way this ensemble fits her lighthearted personality, but still feels harmonic. Nice one, Bayls! Charlotte appeared on Good Morning America to promote SummerSlam and she did so in this vibrant coral dress. The simple, sleeveless fit-and-flare silhouette let's the color do all the talking and this glorious melon shade has plenty to say! It looks amazing on Char, with her blonde hair and tanned skin. She paired it with her current fave BCBG Jetts heels, her trademark watch, a few band rings with lower digit placement for a trendy nod and stud earrings for a touch extra flash. Her black sandals ground the look, while her touches of jewelry embellish this dress, without overwhelming. It's a flawless example of doing style just right - just enough twists, just enough pizzazz, just the right color, just enough editing. Brava. And about that Black Swan reference? That's immediately what came to mind when I saw Charlotte's SummerSlam gear. It's an interesting contradiction that she's gone with bright colors all through the spring and now, here, in the heart of summer, chooses to go dark. Not expecting that :)...but that just makes me love it more! And I do love this gear! All the glamour and bedazzlement take on an almost surreal mysteriousness when set against these mesmerizing dark tones, while the tiny hints of deep purple whisper of royalty. I'm sure it's the feathers that make me think of the Black Swan and while so many of them - especially in addition to all the sparkle - could seem ostentatious, the noir palette works as a flawless counterbalance, softening their effect into one of graceful, delicate texture. It's stunning! Lana has been gracing us with gobs of hot bikinis lately...such a win, right? :) And she always has the thoughtfulness to pair them with heels for a little extra sultriness. (She mentioned heels+bikinis as being one of her fav combos one day on Instagram; we wholeheartedly second that motion!) String bikinis - especially with side ties - are one of my choice silhouettes so this one already has a lot going for it in my book. I also love the wild mix of bright color in the print. The multi-colored print formula also works beautifully in Lana's next offering, a floral romper done in soft blush. She paired it with nude heels for a thoroughly femme and of-the-moment look.
Stephanie's black monochrome combination of a tunic with skinny pants has exactly the polished, professional trendy vibe we'd expect from a managerial style queen. I love the hint of shine and formality brought in by her patent leather t-strap sandals, but what really gives this outfit its pizzazz is that gorgeous crystal statement necklace! It adds a big shot of glam to this look, giving the ensemble some attitude and providing just right kind of exclamation point to a simple canvas. Maryse is at it again - this black bandage dress from House of CB (ID by fashionofthedivas.tumblr.com) is a jaw-dropper! Between the cutouts and the hardware, this piece warrants your undivided attention for some -likely lengthy- amount of time. Marsye wore it on two occasions. For the first, she paired it with classic nude, pointy-toe pumps for a slightly more demure look. For the second, she went for full-on fierce with lace-up peeptoe booties, which I slightly prefer. If you're going to slay any which way, why hold back? ;) Which look do you like best? May was a sweet month for WWE fashion! Among other notable events, we saw Natalya give the hot and trendy choker a try, paired with this zip-front top. It Chokers work fabulously with lower necklines, like this deep-v. Nattie accented it with hoop earrings for a touch of shine.
I'm always on the lookout for new divas (oopps...superstars!) who bring a sense of fashion to the ring. This gear from Peyton Royce caught my eye, due both to the design and the unusual color combination. Mint with plum is a unique pairing and I love the way the two cool tones complement each other. The mint gets a wonderful zing from the fruity purple shade - it looks good enough to eat! :) The cross-body piece is also a fun choice of design. It's practical, but not common. The textural accents add dimension and sprinkle the extra color throughout the look, while the sheer insets add another layer of intrigue. This is quite an intricate gear set for a lady who isn't yet on the main roster, making me think Peyton is definitely one to keep an eye on as far as fashion goes! Stephanie took her turn at the menswear-esque suiting look, pairing a powerful blazer with leather skinny pants. Like Renee's ivory WrestleMania suit, this jacket creates an instant impression. Note, though, how much higher the stance is on Steph's jacket, creating an empire waist. The similar long cut with the different higher stance keep Steph's look a touch boxier, but equally strong and confident. Pairing it with leather brings even more edge, but that is softened just enough by her white shirt and half up-do. Her pendant enhances the v-neckline of her blouse and helps balance the look. This pairing is much riskier than many that we've seen on Steph. I love seeing her step outside her comfort zone with her fashion and the boldness of this outfit works really well, in addition to suiting her on-camera persona. This gear from Charlotte reprises the design of WrestleMania gear, but switches the colors. Instead of blue accented with silver, it's a study in black, with the blue retained as just an accent color. The design is still attractive and the center floral stars are just mesmerizing, but I find the black a tad dull after the glorious blue as a main shade. I wonder if a stronger accent color, or something more surprising - like a holograph material- wouldn't have worked a little better for a darker statement look. Eva Marie attended the Bellami Hair red carpet event along with Maryse. Eva glowed in a sequined suit. Going cami-free works for a formal night event and I love the way her polished, slick ponytail added a more refined vibe to her look. She added a spark of color with red, suede ankle straps sandals - love those shoes! And the extra color is a nice way to throw a twist into this look, which could easily have been an expected black monochrome ensemble. Are ya loving you some Maryse, lately? We're kicking this FH off with a breakdown of a series of her recent looks! One thing she's been doing a lot on tv lately is re-using her main pieces, while making them look different via alternating underlayers and accessories. It's a formula we've seen Maryse employ before and one which I thoroughly espouse. Great fashion requires too much effort and energy to find to wear it once or twice and then ditch it and quality fashion is too expensive to do so. When I find pieces I love, I want to keep them perpetually! That requires a touch of creativity, but following Maryse's example let you do it and never feel bored. This gray lace-embellished statement trench might just be my favorite of her mainstay eye-catchers. It's dramatic, feminine and sexy! Maryse has switched up the feel in a couple of ways. This first look is all about the sexy side (spiked with glam, of course ;)), with her cat-scratch-detail bodysuit and lace-up OTKs. The whole vibe centers around showing peeks of skin in various ways, but never too much at once. It's flirty and seductive. Her sparking crystal statement necklace and belt buckle lend a luxurious vibe that adds a power and haughtiness to all that temptation. This lady's shine will not be dimmed! Her next pairing uses the coat as a contrast piece to a simple black bodysuit with a plunging v-neckline. That detail is accentuated by a bold, architectural necklace. As with the first look, her lace-up boots finish off this combo, letting laciness - in all it's glory - take center stage. Her last tv outfit uses a similar simple one-piece underlayer, this time in steel gray, topped by a truly killer coat. This leather trench is accented with a bevy of huge studs at the lapels, closure and wrists for a fierce af rocker vibe. In this case, the gray beneath works to bring extra dimension via the additional color. Leather+suede OTK's, which echo her trench's rebellious attitude, close out the outfit. We've seen her pair those with the gray lace coat in the past and I'd be willing to be we'll see the lace-up OTKs with the studded topper in the future! Our last Maryse look is from the Bellami Hair red carpet event: this simple mock-neck gown...with a not-so-simple an oh-so-sexy side lace-up cutout. It's cool and pristine in this shade of bright white. And if it looks a little familiar..well, it should! Barbie wore this same dress in red not too long ago. We're kicking off this FashionHap with a little MaryseFest! First up is this LBD, which Maryse paired with statement OTK boots. Seriously, these are NOT your everyday OTK's - look at the patterning! That craftmanship adds extra oomph to this classic look. Of course, it's helped along by Maryse's super-sized chain necklace. I love the presence this type of piece has, especially when set against a black-on-black look.
From there, we're heading over to a couple of her TV appearance looks. Maryse has made her return fashion all about statement dusters, set over a curated collection of bodysuits. This black lace-up front one-piece is the under-garment for both of these outfits. The first look incorporates a piece I completely adore: a gray, lace-embellished piece with a wonderful modern-femme vibe that could swing either gothic or boho. In this case, it looks graceful and feminine, but also FIERCE, due to being layered ovr the very right-now bodysuit. Maryse's second duster has a definite glam-rock vibe. Another gray background serves to highlight shiny, patent leather stripes. It has a look-at-me! quality that makes it perfectly at home on a stage...or on a WWE catwalk ;). Maryse finishes both outifts with those killer OTKs, showcasing a skill I have long loved about her: that of re-using pieces, but still keeping them fresh! Her final offering is a surprising one. Worn at meet-n-greets on the Euro tour, this look is comprised of a cardigan layered over plaid pants, topped with a leather biker jacket and finished with knee boots. The plaid pants really made me look twice, as I'm not used to seeing Maryse choose something this busy for daywear. I'm not sure how many more times I'd like to see them, but they work really nicely with this outfit, providing the coordinating print for a complex selection of colors. Her multi-hued scarf does something quite similar in helping to connect all the shades in this look and adds a chic dollop of panache as well. There's a reason I talk about (and Divas' wear) LBD's a LOT; they're nearly always faaaaabulous! So, even though I see a lot of little black dresses, I was immediately caught by this look of Lilian's. It has a similar vibe to the Maryse outfit that kicked off this FH, with a few mini changes: unembellished suede OTKs vs. statement ones and a cross pendant instead of the massive chain necklace. The latter piece lends a bit of a rocker vibe to Lilian's look and works well with the pretty, slightly boatnecked silhouette of her dress. While Maryse's look comes off fashion-forward and chic, Lilian's has a certain rebel-hearted simplicity. Which one speaks to your style soul? One fabulous thing about WrestleMania is that we get GEAR...so, all of us gearheads can sleep happy for a few days :). There was a lot more floating around Wm than the couple we got to see in the photoshoot WWE released, so let's break all that down, shall we?
Alicia Fox's gear is awesome. Hands down. It's one of the simpler sets in terms of color, as she went with a black monochrome look. But that minimalist choice is a flawless choice to set against this complex, creative and mad cool design! It's a leather brassiere-style halter, but with multiple straps radiating down and outward, some flowing into bold shoulder pieces that create the effect of a cap sleeve. She added some fierce intrigue to this via a mesh underlayer that plays peekaboo beneath the brassiere and then turns into leather-trimmed sleeves. Wowza; this top is super HAWT! Leather shorts and knee boots, paired with leather knee pads) complete the look. The grunge-meets-Bad-Blood vibe is killer and I like the restraint Foxy showed in her choices. The one slight thing I might have liked would be a tiny bit of embellishment (I'm thinking a sprinkling of hardware), considering the importance of WrestleMania as an event. Overall, though, this gear is slammin'! I've been a fan of Paige's bustier+ shorts combo for a long time and she has rocked some jaw-dropping gear at WM. This year, though, felt kind of "meh". I'm not often a huge fan of camo and this gear did little to encourage me to reverse that opinion. The stud accents should have given it a big kick, but they get somewhat lost in the camo pattern (closer pic below). I think they might actually have stood out better against solid black fabric. I wouldn't mind seeing an upgrade to the fishnets/knee socks/army boots too. They don't improve this look, which is a shame, because the right combo could and should. Oh well. Some gears slay and some gears just lay and we just gotta roll with it. Still love ya, Paige! Eva's crossed halter and shorts combo is essentially her trademark gear. The cool thing about this is the red-over-nude lace she chose as a fabric. It looks fab and it's cray sexy, as is her wont. It's a wonderful canvas for a gear. Since this is Wrestlemania, though, it's a perfect time to surprise and delight us with some kind of tweak or twist or curveball. I wish she had made an additional attempt to make this ensemble a bit more special. The same could be said for Brie, although it's more understandable in her case, since this was her final match. There's a practicality to looking good, without expending an insane amount of effort on something you won't wear for years...or ever again. And Brie did rock some serious fabulosity with her make-up. She and her teams went all out there; I couldn't resist including a close-up. How crave-worthy and glam is that eyeshadow?! I respect Brie's choice here; it was a smart play, even though we could possibly wish her last gear was something mesmerizing. This is a hallmark example of Bella style...and that's just how I want to remember Brie. |
