First, let me register my displeasure that Natalya didn't get a set here. With that gear, it's a shame not to have the chance to get a closer look at it. However, WWE did give us the opportunity to appreciate the gear of a number of the divas, which is welcome because it's often a challenge to do more than get a quick overview in the excitement of the big event. It's super cool to get the chance to really savor the amazing gear that accompanies the splendor and hoopla that is Wrestlemania.
For example, Lana's gear begins with a classic piece: the trench, which she gives a futuristic vibe to, via the holographic graphite-and-purple fabric. It then gets an infusion of glam through the addition of sequin-encrusted epaulets. But the amazingness doesn't stop there! The piece then receives the royal treatment: a train fit for a queen. The piece made a massive impact during her entrance, and with good reason! From there, she disrobed into a smoky purple bodysuit, which melded a sequined brassiere with jaw-dropping crystal-embellished floral embroidery. This piece isn't merely glam and functional, with 'sexy' incorporated tangentially; it breaks new ground with its boudoir feel, emphasizing the sultriness over anything else. It's practical too, but that feels like an afterthought. This entire outfit is a showstopper! She finishes it with edgy-classic leather OTKs, a killer high ponytail and lavender lips - a risky shade that often looks a bit odd, but which works here brilliantly, echoing the color of her gear, while still being credible and beautiful, as opposed to shocking or comical. Clearly, Lana knows how to utterly OWN the fashion side of the ring. And her poses? Well...Maryse, you have some competition.

So, you knew this, right? The min I saw this outfit of Steph's, it started screaming "Inspiration Board!". Ok, not literally, cuz that would just....weirdness. But, yeah. This is pretty much me, daily. So, how do you get my/Steph's look? Step one: basics. BAM. Black top, blue jeans. Curve-kissing on top, slim/skinny on the bottoms. That's your 101 canvas. Step two: fun part! Add your fierce. Stephanie's kept this look quite professional by topping it with a blazer, but you can give it a more laidback, or rocker, or ladylike or off-duty model vibe by going with a different topper. I'm a huge fan of twill jackets. They're not generally easy to find, but worth searching for, as they give you the look without the price. A twill biker or band jacket will toughen up a look without the expenditure required by leather. You can find stud or zipper-embellished pieces, which amp up the vibe but are still more elevated than denim. Don't go for anything too soft and flowy; this look depends on the structure of the jacket for it's pulled-togetherness and stylish zing. If you want to stay a bit more casual, choose a collarless jacket. Stay with black to keep the boldness in this look. For baubles, I like the idea of putting a period on the fierce thing by adding a glam-goth-tinged pendant. Finish it off with your most achingly, crave-worthy heels. No sweet bow or round-toe pumps or ballet flats! Booties with studs, booties with lace, booties with studs AND lace :), leather peeptoe booties -metal accents encouraged: chains? Myriad buckles? Bring 'em. Patent t-straps. Or multi-strappy sandals. You're looking for footwear that nods at harshness, like the edge of a blade...shiny, but possibly deadly. And if you don't own anything like that? Eeesh. You're pushing me *wry face*. Your pointiest-toed whatevers. If you must. :)
WWE made a final hail and farewell gesture to the vintage Women's Title with this retro styled photoshoot featuring a number of the divas posing with the original belt. It's a fun look back at a tough, rough-hewn piece of leather with a storied history. One important note: the background for this 'shoot is kind of fantabulous :). It's this gray-green moldering wall that makes me think of the Slytherin common room. Wicked cool. (Pun intended ;)
Stephanie looked haughty and gorgeous while carrying the belt in this studded-shoulder sweater in a fab shade of graphite. Blue jeans and a few baubles completed her haute-rocker look. Sasha repped her Legit Boss tee for the shoot. It matches the old belt quite nicely. Come to think of it, it wouldn't look bad with the new one either ;). She injected a pop of color with these bright sky skinny pants, which made a nice departure from the ring gear many of the ladies chose. One of said ladies was Natalya, who gave us a close-up of this pink-piped sheer inset bodysuit ensemble, which is among the sexiest incarnations of her in-ring look yet! This piece gives me sexy superhero vibes - can't you just imagine Natty dodging lasers and driving a convertible amphibious plane? We'll be winding up WM week (finally!..rt? :)) with the fashion of the day itself and a little GearFest this week, but for now, it's all about the last vestiges of non-ring fashion before the big day.
Stephanie rocked WM 32 Media Day in this robins' egg blue sheath. The color is utterly gorgeous and couldn't be more perfect for spring! (Aside: this shade of blue is famous as the trademark color of the jewelry store, Tiffany's). The front pockets add a bit of casual modernity to this dress. Her mesh ivory sandals keep th whole look soft and light, and that's enhanced by her pastel make-up tones. Everything about this speaks of newness and a flush of youthful, spring colors. And it works flawlessly! Soft and light seems to have been on everyone's mind, as Charlotte chose this ivory sheath for her look at Media Day. She paired it with her nude Kendall + Kylie Abi pumps. I love the classic silhouette of this dress, and also the on-trend lace detailing, which keeps it ultra-current. Charlotte's simple pumps, with their unique, swooped detail, keep this chic, minimalist outfit interesting and chic. Stephanie's Hall Of Fame dress only recently came to my attention; it's this stunning tulle-fringed confection of a high-necked halter dress from Alexander McQueen. Ogh...I'm in heaven! This high-neck style generally carries a very sleek, modernist connotation, but with the graceful, fluttery embellishments, it feels feminine and light. It's an absolutely beautiful and fabulous piece, typical of Sarah Burton's flawlessly tailored romantic vision for the house of McQueen. It's such a jazz to get to see amazing pieces like this out and about on ladies whose style we adore! #ThankYouSteph Wrestlecon came to Dallas the same week as WrestleMania, so it was truly a wrestling takeover of Texas! It also brought out stars by the airplane load...which meant more fashion for us! :) Oh, darn.
Brooke showed off two outfits at Wrestlecon. The first was this wine sheath, which she paired with lace-up gladiator heels (shove over, Kendall :)). I love the warmth of the burgundy-with-caramel combo - doesn't that just sound so inviting and decadent? A lariat necklace and a pretty headband brought out the bohemian feel to this earthy color pairing. Next up was Brooke's take on the L(ong)BD, as she went with a black maxi dress, finished off with a beaded statement necklace. The look is uncomplicated, but amazing! I also commend Brooke wholeheartedly for her adorable and modest poses. I love how she's let us know about her forthcoming arrival, but doesn't make her belly the center of attention. It's refreshing and beautiful to see how's she's handled this. I didn't know it was possible to respect her more than I did previously...but I do. Very best wishes, Brooke...as always! Also during WM week came NBC's Summer Press Day, which included Barbie Blank-Souray, wearing a stunning midi LBD. The color and silhouette of this sheath is ultra-classic, but the straps at the bodice create the impression of a sexy cutout, making it oh so modern! It's a perfect representation of the best of Barbie's style - chic, but with a dash of sass! She finished the look with au courant slim ankle strap sandals of the SW Nudist or SL Jane variety - flawless choice! We've seen Natalya's incredible HoF dress...but did you know she topped it with a leather jacket en route to the venue? Tres cool! Even cooler is who she ran in to: Velvet Sky, who was in town for Wrestlecon. Velvet paired this graphic print tunic with black leggings for her trademark grunge-glam look. I love the flutter sleeve on her tunic - sooo pretty! Rose pink lips and nails give the whole ensemble a bright pop. The Superstars For Hope benefit is one of the many highlights of WrestleMania week, not least (for us fashion-obsessed) because the ladies come out to rock the red carpet in some amazing outfits.
Lilian was looking gorgeously glam in this glittered ivory sheath. The patterning of the sparkle brings strong impact to this sheath dress. She outdid herself with the accessories though: that delicate, drizzled cuff is glorious! The subtle shimmer is the perfection addition to her glittery dress. And those shoes! I'm always down for a fab pair of ankle straps and the multiple fabric, plus the cut of the vamp make these killer! Maryse was slaying red carpets all over the place this year! In addition to being the runner up at our Hall Of Fame Fashion Review, she easily wins Best Dressed here. The cobalt color of this modernist gown is everything! Pair that with the uber-unique neckline and you have an utterly crave-worthy piece. Note how the jersey fabric makes it formal, but not overly so; her HoF gown was dressier yet. The appropriateness of her choices wins high praise from me. Ditto her slicked-back long, loose hairstyle; it's sleek polish is a flawless accompaniment to this gown. Jojo continues her run of impressive style with this ivory V-neck mini dress. The sheen of the fabric assists the deep-v and sparkling band at her waist in creating just the right amount of formality. The look exudes freshness, coupled with growing sophistication...and I love it! She also gets Fierce points for her make-up - the warmth of this palette is a totally gorgeous choice. Stephanie McMahon chose a pink and gray sheath for this event. The strong but feminine shoulder immediately suggests it is an Alexander McQueen piece, which indeed it is. I love the shape of this dress and the ruffle detailing at the shoulder and collar - they create a subtle but elegant detail which make this dress stand out. My only reservation is that the fabric appears to be a knit, which makes it a bit less formal than I would ideally love, although formal shoes could allay that. However, I am madly (like bouncing in my chair) excited to see Stephanie adding new (and haute couture!) designers to her collection. She's been a fan of Michael Kors for quite some time; McQueen represents an intriguing and thrilling new direction. More please! :) Well, ok...now we're getting some photoshoots :) Maybe my grousing did some good.(Ha. Right). This is a super special shoot - a rarity, in fact. It features none other than the Queen herself, Stephanie McMahon! Wowza, right? How many moons has it been since we've had a photoshoot from her? And better yet, she gives us not one, but TWO outfits. The first is a spot on-trend black pantsuit, accented with a diagonal embellishment of sequins. She pairs it with her YSL Tribute sandals for a black monochrome look. Her jewelry is fantastic here - a bold cuff on one hand and a slim bracelet on the other, along with a pointer finger ring. I don't think we've seent hat ring placement before from Stephanie and I love the fashion-forward feel it creates. Her second outfit combines a black square-neck shell with a crimson pencil skirt. It's finished with her Michael Kors Bryn open-toe studded booties. An intricate and substantial statement necklace brings the hoped-for royal vibe. This look is all about power and it conveys the idea flawlessly. Fashion isn't all there is to rave about in this set though. The wine-colored background brings drama to these snaps, as does the fantastic gilded throne, with its red velvet coverings. Now, that's a prop! Lastly, Stephanie completely slays the poses (my favorites include her reclining in the throne and the foot-on-overturned-furniture ones) and facials - her expectation of obedience and spellbinding allure is conveyed in each. No one does it better. No one. Which is as should be. None shall be above the Queen. :)
