FashionHap: Mid-Mar '16 Pt 3
So it begins. Wrestlemania week, lovelies! Are you strapped in? I'll be finishing up March and delving into aaaaallll the WM fashion happenings so come early and often...and stay late ;)
Nikki Bella wore this black sheer-striped dress to a recent event. The sheer-stripe/ lined-unlined pairing has been an important look in fashion lately. Done right, it has a wonderful visual play that's lighthearted and flirty. She paired with her Louis Vuitton pumps, which we haven't see for awhile. I always love to see the Divas re-use fashion in an interesting way. She also wore this simple but fab sleeveless shell and slim pants combo - I'm loving her use of the red. It packs a punch and is both classy and unexpected! She finished off the look with a bit of glam - crystal-accented almond toe pumps, which I would move in with in a heartbeat ;). The shoes elevate this outfit and create a gorgeous and exciting exclamation point.
Like Nikki, Summer has the sheer-stripe thing going on this month. Hers was done via a pencil skirt, which she paired with a lace halter top. The lighting makes this look a bit jaw-dropping (something to keep in mind when choosing one's outfits), but I believe this look is really the sexy-meets-modern kind of event-appropriate fashion Summer excels at. Oh...and this pose? Can we have that in the next photoshoot, pretty pleasums?
I always have a certain innate pull toward outfits that are a straightforward mix of classic elements, spiked with a twist. It's a combination Natalya often gravitates to as well. This look pairs an iconic leather jacket with blue denim. The spike comes from the mesh embellishment on her black tee, which gives a cool, edgy vibe to the look. OTK's finish the outfit perfectly. It's not overly complex, but it looks divine, embodying "I woke up like this" fashion sensibilities.
Brie is always at the forefront of the casual cool style crowd. This cropped tank and jeans is as laidback as it gets. But there are a few elements that make it particularly stand out. One is her use of navy instead of black. Even though there's just barest extra bit of warmth in the deep blue as compared to the black, it still softens the whole vibe of the outfit. Second, I love the easy, comfortable chic of her suede slip-on flats. This is a perfect xample of how subtle details make an outfit!
Well, ok...now we're getting some photoshoots :) Maybe my grousing did some good.(Ha. Right). This is a super special shoot - a rarity, in fact. It features none other than the Queen herself, Stephanie McMahon! Wowza, right? How many moons has it been since we've had a photoshoot from her? And better yet, she gives us not one, but TWO outfits. The first is a spot on-trend black pantsuit, accented with a diagonal embellishment of sequins. She pairs it with her YSL Tribute sandals for a black monochrome look. Her jewelry is fantastic here - a bold cuff on one hand and a slim bracelet on the other, along with a pointer finger ring. I don't think we've seent hat ring placement before from Stephanie and I love the fashion-forward feel it creates. Her second outfit combines a black square-neck shell with a crimson pencil skirt. It's finished with her Michael Kors Bryn open-toe studded booties. An intricate and substantial statement necklace brings the hoped-for royal vibe. This look is all about power and it conveys the idea flawlessly. Fashion isn't all there is to rave about in this set though. The wine-colored background brings drama to these snaps, as does the fantastic gilded throne, with its red velvet coverings. Now, that's a prop! Lastly, Stephanie completely slays the poses (my favorites include her reclining in the throne and the foot-on-overturned-furniture ones) and facials - her expectation of obedience and spellbinding allure is conveyed in each. No one does it better. No one. Which is as should be. None shall be above the Queen. :)

We get a couple of cute, casual looks from Renee as she learns to ride or die, along with Brie. Renee's vibrant plaid shirt rocks when paired with ripped jeans. It has this laidback, classic Americana feel. We also get a quick glimpse at Brie's pairing of a sleeveless white tee with black denim. I love how she makes the look into something special with her additions of a slim chin and a fedora. Stephanie was stunning in blue in this cobalt, cap-sleeve sheath at the WrestleMania 33 Press Announcement. Sand-colored peeptoe booties brought a spunky styling to this look - a combo of simple dress with statement heels that is a Steph-fav. Renee was back again, showing us how to keep simple looks ultra cool, as she paired a classic white tee with leather leggings. Her half ponytail was a great way to keep this look fun and fresh, while her bright red lip added just the right pop of color. Caramel suede boots closed out her look; I confess I might have preferred black here to keep the contrast dynamic. If you remember that crochet lace sweater I raved over when Renee wore it on tv recently with a pleated skirt, get prepared: I'm about to rave again :). Brie paired this Nasty Gal piece (ID by fashionofthedivas) with checkered, cuffed pants and red pumps. Cuffed pants always have an 80's vibe to me, but the way Brie's paired them here, they almost defy a decade. Athough it seems like crochet and check would be a risky combination, the simple color pallet and opposite scale (the crochet pattern is large, while the check are quite small in comparison) make this outfit come together quite fabulously. This is one of those memorable Brie match-ups that pushes the envelope but completely works. It's bold and daring and requires a highly competent fashionista to invent and pull off...and Brie does it admirably. I live for the moments when she does styling like this!

I ttly can't believe WrestleMania week is almost here! Are you revved? Me 2! And scared lol. I have to clear a bunch of posts out my backlog before we get to the fashion deluge that is WM week...gaaah! So it's lots of work for me..but lots of fun for you lucky ones ;). Hold on to your cloches, loves and strap in. It's gonna get caaaaa-raaayzaay.
A lot of the LBD's we see are sheaths, bodycon or otherwise pretty button-downed style, but this one from Lana has a bit more flow and movement to it, as a result of the georgette sleeves. I especially love the chic femininity of the long cuffs. The rounded neckline also gives off a softer vibe, as compared to a bolder V-shape. Lana enhanced that vibe with lace tights and then brough a bit of an edge to the look with black OTKs. I like the way the lace breaks up the black-on-black with texture.
Maria wore this gooooorgeous sheath dress during a mid-March Impact episode. If you look fast, you see a typical ivory sheath. But ssly, let's just take a moment to fully appreciate this dress. Atop the ivory fabric is multi-colored embroidery in a beautiful scrolled floral design. And that is embellished with crystals. Ogh...so fab! Even though Maria's with TNA now, this dress is completely WM-worthy! Or prom-worthy ;). She finished it of with metallic gold single-sole heels, which are a perfect choice, as they reflect the warmth of the dress's color.
This casual outfit from Rosa is a fairly basic pairing of a cute, red sleeveless tee and skinny jeans. What made it stand out for me, though, was her choice of snake print flats. That is how you do a statement flat, Fiercettes! It elevates the whole outfit.
WWE just released their third photoshoot in a week (more on those coming soon!), so maybe the wheel is finally turning in that department. Prior to this week, it seemed like all the 'shoots were bottlenecked, even though the ladies kept releasing teaser shots. I finally gave up waiting for the Big Dub to cough up the goodies, so even though this snap of Eva looks like a 'shoot pic, I'm reviewing it. Ms. All Red Everything gave us a very garage-glam look with distressed skinny jeans paired with a fantastically studded leather jacket. Lest you think Paige is the Queen of leather jackets, Eva begs to differ. This one is smoking hot and brings plenty of attitude. The black monochrome outfit helps to ground all those studs, while her pointy toe textured-leather pumps bring the glam. This kind of look is where Eva's fashion sense really shines!
If WWE has been bad about letting loose the 'shoots, TNA has been even worse. It's been like excavating an Egyptian tomb to get any kind of fashion at all out of the Impact crowd lately, outside of the ever-amazing Maria. Sigh. At least we have this find from a recent archaeological adventure: Dixie doing 70's as she does best, with an off-shoulder snake print top, black jeans and knee boots. She accented it with a multi-strand bead necklace. This look is classic Dixie and it works well - it's interesting and polished and touch sexy.
OMG - how I WISH it could be Lana's birthday every day! ...Especially if WWE is going to celebrate it with a photo gallery ;). The actual day of her birth is March 24...a date she shares with the Undertaker. How's that for good company on your birthday?! The Big Dub released a plethora of photos to celebrate it and looking through them, I discovered one simple thing..well two, actually. one is that Lana is HAWT. But technically, I already knew that. So, the thing I discovered is that the Big Dub has been holding out on us! The miserable, lousy, rotten scumbags! Look at all these pics from un-released 'shoots? What gives? It seems like all the companies have been teasing us lately about forthcoming 'shoots, but not a 'shoot do we get. It's maddening. And unacceptable. Here we are, almost at the end of March, and what have we gotten for photoshoots? Merely three. Thhhbbpppftttt. Ssly, Big Dub: #FreeThePhotoshoots! There are a bunch of fun shots from old photoshoots as part of this gallery tribute to Lana, but you'll definitely want to check it out for the NEW pics that it includes. One of my favorites is this sexy pairing of a cherry red, sweetheart necklined crop top with cutoff jean shorts. You could hardly get a more classic, sexy vixen combo. It immediately makes me think of something Guess would use for an ad campaign. ..which reminds me: why haven't they asked Lana to be a brand ambassador for them, yet? Hmmmm? Lana brings some free-spirited FIERCE to this look by finishing it with lace-up, peep-toe OTK booties. Ogh...doesn't just reading that description give you shivery thrills? With her confident poses and wind-blown locks, this was clearly a made-to-order bombshell 'shoot!
There's something to be said for simplicity. You can always start a great outfit via the right basics: black tee, classic leather jacket, blue jeans. Keep simplicity modern by shading one or two of the elements to what's hot now; use distressed denim or a slouchy boyfriend shape, or an asymmetrical zippered silhouette for your jacket. Renee has chosen the distressed denim route...feel free to copy ;). An assemblage of basics is the perfect background canvas to highlight one special piece. Again, follow Renee's lead and show off a knotted or draped scarf - go for texture in solid black, a black and white print (consider fun dots, skulls or a pop-art graphic), or a contrasting vivid color. Any piece with presence will work (skip the skinny scarves ...or layer them! :) ) If you're not a scarf girl, or in the scarf mood, try a favorite pendant, or an embellished belt (think studded, laser cut or braided). Finish with more black (ankle booties, brogue flats or pointy toe pumps) or a touch of color - I especially love a pump with a contrasting cap toe. Add baubletry with a tiny hint of color, or alternatively, use a bright lip and/or nail color to carry the shading throughout the outfit. Starting with a simple canvas makes putting together a stylish outfit oh so easy: put on the basics, add your special piece (or two) and BOOM! -you're good to go. Have fun keeping it simple!
Now that the warmer weather is here, have you got bikini bods on your mind? Whether its getting one or ogling one, the Big Dub has you covered with their latest collection of bikini'd divas, curated from the ladies' Instagram postings. We've added a couple of our own finds as well ...because...bikinis! Ready to get blasted? Blue is hot this year according to the divas, as no less than three of them rocked that color. Mandy showed off this breezy crosshatch string style. The color play of the hot pink piping is just fab! Nikki went for a glorious cobalt shade that is killer! Equally killer is the cut-out center, held together with slim horizontal straps. Oh. My. Naturally, she finished off the look in style with black leather sandals. She can even make a neck brace look hot. #IAmNotWorthyBows. I love the graduated dot styling of Eva Marie's classic white bikini. That pop-art detail lends a very mod vibe to the piece. With denim shorts and her red hair, this pic immediately makes me think of Independence Day! Summer hopped on the fringe trend with this goooooorgeous deep periwinkle blue top, paired with black string bottoms. Mixing and matching is just plain fun! I'm in love with her classy peeptoe wedges - completely magnificent silhouette! The oval cutouts on Brie's bikini are the first thing that make it stand out...va-va-vroom! How tantalizing are those? The second can't-miss-it detail is that mesmerizing bright emerald color! This shade has just come back on fashion's radar after a number of years away and its return is oh so welcome :). Rosa shows off a classic black bikini with a ring detail accent. You can never go wrong with black! It's alwaaaaaays chic.
